A man of controversy, the works of Richard Dawkins have sold millions across the global and have divided just as many people as they have inspired. For collectors, the works of Dawkins can be split into two many categories, scientific and religious.
Although the most famous and perhaps most financially successful work by Dawkins is The God Delusion, the original publication of The Selfish Gene by Oxford University Press in 1976 may just be the most collectible, with signed copies in fine condition fetching over $1,000. For book collectors with an avid interest in the works of Dawkins whether scientific or religious, later first edition, signed copies of his books, can be found online quite easily with prices typically well under $500.
Dawkin's books could fetch much more in future years considering their current popularity and more importantly, their cultural impact on the world.
