The quintessential angling book and of high value for any collector is The Complete Angler by Isaak Walton. One of the first and last figures in environmentalism, Walton uses fictional characters to describe the outdoors and fishing in a real and true sense. It was revised and edited many times, but each edition is worthy. You can find that early editions of this book can easily be valued at over $10,000!

Another direction a collector can go in is finding classic novels about angling. There are various classic novels that revolve around angling. One such title is Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. Another title is Captain Courageous by Rudyard Kipling. Since both authors are well known for their classics, you know early editions of these books are a great find for any collector!
