A very fine set in original tan linen over brown boards, paper spine labels; housed in publisher's slipcases, and including the original glassine jackets (the books are fine - the slipcases are overall near fine, with some darkening and occasional staining or dampstaining and several cracks; the glassine jacket have darkening and chipping; the prospectus is rubbed with chipping and darkening). Copy #277 of the Peter Pan edition, limited to 1000 numbered sets signed by the publishers. A remarkably well-preserved set. Frontispieces in Each Volume.

Description: This is a complete 18 volume set of the Peter Pan edition of the Works of J.M. Barrie, published by Charles Scribner's Sons. The set is bound in its original cream spine with clay brown boards, with a golden engraved emblem on the front cover. The title and volume number of each book is affixed to the spine with what appears to be a sticker of some sort. The set is a limited edition of 1030 sets. Volume 1 is numbered 707 and is signed by the publisher, and as an affixed letter signed by J.M. Barrie within. Volumes 2 - 14 are numbered 491, and volumes 15 - 18 were printed a decade after the first 14 volumes (in 1940) and are numbered 172. Various volumes have uncut pages, and some are rough cut. Volumes 1 and 13 - 18 are a much redder color cover as well. Please note that additional shipping fees may be needed due to the size of this collection.
