Condition: Very Good

Description: Author-inscribed early edition with three handwritten letters, including one from Alfred's widow. Alfred Perceval Graves was the father of Robert Graves, who famous autobiography Goodbye To All That was published in 1929. A year later Alfred Graves published his own autobigraphy with a similar title, obviously hoping for the same success which his son enjoyed with his book. This copy is a second impression (September 1930), the first from August having quickly sold. It is inscribed on the half-title "For Percival Westell F.L.S. F.S.A. with kind memories from his old friend and fellow man of letters Alfred Perceval Graves October 22nd 1930. 8vo hardback, purple cloth, fading to spine & bright gilt lettering. Laid in are 3 signed one-sheet handwritten letters from the Graves' house in Harlech, North Wales (Erinfa) to Percival Westell - 2 letters from Alfred Graves dated October 1930 and October 1931, plus 1 letter from Amy Graves in April 1932 thanking Mr Westell for his sympathy following the recent death of her husband (Dec. 1931). A nice item for the Graves completist - with good provenance. Scans upon request.
