Description: Second printing, five months after the first. Bookplate of collector Clifton Waller Barrett, small, light stain on front fly, and spine lettering a trifle rubbed, else near fine, lacking the dustwrapper. Inscribed by Jeffers on a tipped-in leaf to the author and occasional hobo: "To Jim Tully, with admiration for his powerful and sincere work. Robinson Jeffers." Unlike most authors, Jeffers seems to have often provided inscriptions meant to be tipped into his books. An attractive copy with a nice association.

Light spotting to corner of back board; some wear to corners; small bookseller's ticket to rear pastedown; otherwise a very good copy. Signed presentation to George West from the author in the year of publication on the front free endpaper. Laid in are the following items: typed letter to West by Jeffers (the original signature has been clipped from the bottom of the second page); copies of four contemplated illustrations for the book by Alexander King and others; eleven photographs (most annotated by Una Jeffers); and an autograph post card to the Wests in the hand of Una (signed Una and Robin).

Description: Includes a personal inscription from Robinson Jeffers to Lester Donahue; a handwritten postcard to Mr. Donahue from Una & Robin; two original black & white photographs of Jeffers dated 1934, one showing Robinson & his two sons riding horses; an undated & early photograph of Tor House in Carmel; and a photograph of Robinson, Una, Donnan (son) & wife, Lee, and Dame Judith Anderson, long time friend of Robinson and Una. Laid in is a single-page ALS from Donnan Jeffers to Mr. Donahue thanking him for his kind letter following Robinson's death in 1962. Lester Donahue (1892-1964) was a Los Angeles-born concert pianist and a protégé of the actress Madame Helena Modjeska. Also included is an original black & white photograph of Robinson Jeffers at Tor House, SIGNED and dated 1950, by noted photographer, Ira H. Latour (1919 - 2015), who studied with Ansel Adams, Edward Weston and Minor White. 8vo. 175 pp. A near fine copy in publisher's dustjacket.
