Description: FINE LIMITED Edition of 470 copies. Volume in full leather (tan pigskin), top edge gilt (still bright) and Gilt titles. Crown of spine leather is worn (frayed) with very light extremity wear to all edges. Several foldout facsimiles - one of which is laid in as it separated (neatly) at it fold. The engraved title page (original tissue guards in place), is SIGNED by the engraver, J.A. J. Wilcox. - Varick served under General Schuyler during the American Revolution. At West Point he served as an aide to General Benedict Arnold and was arrested when Arnold defected. - He went on to serve under General George Washington. A fabulous interesting history. Lacks slipcase. 217 pages all with publishers lovely deckled edges.
