The book is somewhat warped, but tight and solid. Rear hinge cracked and back end papers are water stained.Text is lightly water stained on top of 14 pages which does not interfere with the text. Otherwise the text is very clean. Great association copy. Cover slight rub, wesr & Outer Hinges tiny Tears WEAR ALONG SPINE, . the 126 masterful illustrations are printed on colored papers, exactly as Baum intended. This deluxe facsimile of the fifth Oz adventure introduces new characters such as the lovable Shaggy Man and beautiful Polychrome, the Rainbow's Daughter. Black-and-white illustrations. Illustrated front free endpaper lacking (it has been absent a long time, as there is slight offsetting from the illustrated pastedown onto the signed page opposite); neat repairs to backstrip which is slightly sunned and frayed at extremities. Maud Gage Baum's copy, with her small illustrated bookplate, her signature on the "This Book Belongs to" page, and beneath that the annotation, "This is a first edition of the "Road to Oz" - from my Grand Mother Baums library - Florence Baum Hurst, April 22, 1945."
