Indentations from grooves to front and rear panels. Spine shows light wrinkling and scratches. Two 1/4" open tears to head of spine. Dust jacket is not price clipped with $17.95 price on the front flap. Verso of dust jacket shows spots of foxing. All edges of textblock show a few small scratches and spots of foxing. Hinges strong. The covers are a bit cocked, and the very tips of the bottom of the boars ans spine are a trifle sunned. In the illustrated dust jacket, which is price-clipped, and has light rubbing to the surface. The edges have a handful of very shallow tears, mostly closed. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper. The Monkey Wrench Gang, Abbey's ecoterrorism novel, spawned the radical environmental group Earth First!, and has gone on to become what the author always dreadedâ€" a classic, selling more than a million copies. Very bright. A very attractive copy. The author's sixth and most famous novel and his eleventh book. The first printing of the tenth anniversary edition. Includes eleven full page and thirty chapter head illustrations by the incomparable R. Crumb. This copy is signed and by both Abbey and Crumb, in the year of publication, on the front free endpaper. Crumb writes the date, "85" by his signature. Signed at the publisher's release party.

This is a limited version of the tenth anniversary edition published by Ken Sanders' Dream Garden Press, illustrated with the famous drawings by Robert Crumb. It consisted of 250 numbered copies signed by Abbey, as well as an original art print signed by the illustrator Robert Crumb. A beautiful copy in fine condition. Very tight, resists opening. The slipcase is fine except the label is just a bit loose on one side. The photos are the best description. A chance to own an exceptional rarity with the signatures of both Abbey and Crumb.

Housed in a tan slipcase with full color work to front panel. Corners lightly bumped. Two faint marks of soiling. Illustrated by famed underground cartoonist and sometime musician, R. Crumb. Tenth anniversary double signed edition. Signed by Edward Abbey on the limitation page. Signed and numbered print, "You Can't Never Go Wrong Cuttin' Fence" by R. Crumb laid in. The book and print are numbered 186 of 250. The late, great Edward Abbey published twenty-one books during his lifetime (two posthumously). Both "The Monkey Wrench Gang" and "Desert Solitaire" have become what the author always dreaded (classics!), with over one million copies of each title sold.

Description: Salt Lake City: Dream Garden Press, 1985. Octavo. Hardcover in a slipcase. This is one of 250 copies signed by Abbey and including a loose print signed by Crumb. Additionally, this is one of only fifty copies signed by the (actually existing) individuals who inspired the characters in Abbey's immortal novel. This particular copy is lacking the signature of Bonnie Abbzug, aka Ingrid Eisenstadter. Copy number 46 of 50 signed by the novel's characters and copy 196/250 signed by Abbey and including the print signed by Crumb. Slipcase has trace rubbing along the bottom of one edge. Book has never been read. Book and slipcase are both in near fine condition.
