Good+ A robust copy of the first, limited & signed edition of Day Lewis' early poetry collection, reflecting his leftist politics of the period. Published in March 1933 and priced at 7s6d, it was no. 1 in the Hogarth Living Poets, Second Series. A trade edition, of 500 copies, was published simultaneously. With a printed dedication: "To W. H. This is No.1 in the Second Series of Hogarth Living Poets. This is an extremely rare copy not only for the limitation but for the condition. In addition, laid in is a two page autographed letter (front and back of one sheet) signed by Lewis. "Dear Sir: thank you for your letter & what you said about the 'Magnetic Mountain.'
