Francis Parkman. France and England in North America. A Series of Historical Narratives. Part Second. The Jesuits in North America in the Seventeenth Century. Little, Brown and Company, Boston, 1867.

Price: US$5000.00 + shipping

Description: First Edition. Part Second (though a self contained single work.) 8vo. [2, blanks] [1, engraved map] lxxxix. 463pp. [2, blanks] Bound in the original publisher pebbled cloth with gilt titling. Signed by the author on the second blank: 'Compliments of F. Parkman.' VERY GOOD. Shows marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities, the occasional light handling mark of the cloth, front and back hinge ever so slightly pulled though holding strong, text-block shows just mild stiffness, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, and the boards are bright and distinct. As pictured.
