Kenneth Pickthorn was a History Fellow at Corpus Christie College, Cambridge and contributed reviews to The Criterion when Eliot was the editor. A pre-publication inscribed copy of an important work by Eliot, rarely found inscribed.

The first printing of The Family Reunion, a play by T.S. Eliot was published in March of 1939 by Faber and Faber of London. The first American edition was published the same month, with a print run of 2,500 copies.
