Description: 323 pp. 8vo, publisher's cloth. First edition; first issue with four tipped-in photographs. Light staining to the cloth; tight and sound. A presentation copy with a full-page inscription from Henry Miller (signed "Henry") to poet and translator Hugh [Chisholm], who is listed in Appendix III as one who supplied Miller with Books. A small dampstain at the lower left corner of the front free endpaper slightly affects one word of the inscription (not the signature).

Miller reveals his favorite books & authors. The three appendices deal with the 100 books that influenced him and the ones he still intends to read. Miller has written a long inscription on the first sheet about his neighbor in Big Sur. Fine book in a near fine dust jacket with a 1/2" chip to the bottom spine edge. A beautiful & unique book!
