Note that spine of book is plain black cloth with no lettering. This was Hillerman’s first mystery and it featured Joe Leaphorn, a Navajo Nation policeman. Introduction by Ernie Bulow of Buffalo Medicine Books. Dust jacket art and illustrations by Navajo artist Ernest Franklin. This copy has been signed on the title page by Hillerman, Franklin, and Bulow. Laid-in is an explanation from Sidewinder regarding this new edition of Hillerman’s first mystery.
