IRIS MURDOCH - RARE SIGNED FIRST EDITION. The Bell. Chatto & Windus LONDON, 1958.

Price: US$503.79 + shipping

Condition: Very Good

Description: A great copy, considering its age. This is signed by Iris Murdoch on the title page, without dedication, and in what looks like a fountain pen ink. It has a former owner's name on the front end paper, but apart from that no faults, no turned over corners. The cover is complete, not price clipped; and it has a superb drawing by Charles Mozley. This is now protected. A rare copy as a signed first edition.

Iris Murdoch. The Bell. Chatto and Windus, London, 1958.

Price: US$968.82 + shipping

Description: A signed first edition of Iris Murdoch's fourth novel, 'The Bell.' Signed by Murdoch to the title page. The Bell is set in Imber Court, a lay religious community situated next to an enclosed order of Benedictine nuns in Gloucestershire. In a green cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Dustwrapper is smart also, with just a few handling marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, aside from some spotting to the textblock edge. Very Good Indeed
