Description: 292 pp. First issue, bound in smooth beige cloth, spine lettering in green and brown, map endpapers, tipped in photos on glossy paper. Covers worn, frayed at top and bottom of spine and in points at tips, dampstaining to large parts of cloth, dampstaining to small area at lower corner of page block [foredge and bottom edge] with a little dampstaining to interior plates in corresponding area at lower foredge. Inscribed on half title by Miller to Pierre [probably his collector and friend Pierre Sicart], "For Pierre - Henry Miller 6/6/74", with note below in another hand "From Barbara Chrisler Jan 1967 on day of her death" with Miller's note below, "why not on day of her life [underlinjed]? HM". . Chrisler's small ownership signature at top of front endpaper. Front hinge cracked through before title page, small edge dampstained areas on plates as noted above, contents otherwise very good +. No Dust Jacket.

Description: Christmas inscription from Miller to his Big Sur neighbors Harry dick and Shanagolden ( author Liliam Bos Ross). Signed Henry and Lepska and dated in the month of the book's publication (December 1945). Book has some darkening along the edges and some spotting on the rear cover. The clipped dust jacket has small chips and tears at the top and bottom of the spine and at the corners. Jackson A 50A. Nice association item!
