Description: 347 pages. First edition, first printing. Ghost written by Sinclair Lewis. A primer by this American tennis player who was National Singles Champion 1912 & 1913. Preface by Richard Norris Williams who was National Champion in 1914. Many instructional photographs. Laid in are a correspondence between Alf Stavig and James Lorson, a book dealer in Fullerton, California. Stavig relates in a formal memo dated 1986, his relationship to McLoughlin. Stavig writes of his meeting McLoughlin and how McLoughlin related to him how Lewis came to ghost write this book. There is also a letter from McLoughlin dated 1951, signed by him. Near fine book with a touch of edge wear. No dust jacket. A very nice copy with rare information about the role of Sinclair Lewis in writing this book.
