Description: Shires and Provinces. By Sabretache, the pen name of Albert Stuart Barrow, and illustrated by Lionel Edwards. Published in London by Eyre and Spottiswood. 1926, 195 pp, 14.25 x 10.75, vellum binding. In good condition, with minor superficial wear to boards, as well as very minor tears to binding between the spine and front board at the top and bottom. Remnants of bookseller stickers on back pastedown. Hinges are intact and text block is secure. Pencil inscriptions on second flyleaf page. Signed and numbered by the author prior to the title page. Includes several color illustrations and numerous black-and-white sketches throughout. Slight toning and foxing throughout pages, as well as minor tears and edge wear. Book is protected in a large box with light padding. Slight superficial scuffing and wear to edges of box. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A very scarce and beautifully bound book by Albert Stuart Barrow (1878-1966), with illustrations by Lionel Edwards. Documents the history of foxhunting in certain parts of Britain.
