Printed on Shidzuoka Japan Vellum and signed by author. A beautiful copy!

Description: #47 of 619 First Edition copies signed by the author. Marbled boards with gilt-stamped leather laabel on spine, are iexcellent. Text block is intact, binding is very tight, pages on Croxley hand made paperr are clean and bright showing only a touch of light foxing on endpapers as well as title page. Deckled edges and gilt top edge show foxing. Original jacket is present with edgewear and a tear atop spine. It is now protected in mylar. Description: 280 pp. 8vo, publisher's cloth with paper labels in dust jacket. First edition. A very good copy with the usual browning to the spine and edges of the green cloth. This copy was clearly exposed to some moisture, and there are some minor signs of this on the front cover and some of the pages. There is no tidemark or stain on the text leaves, which are just slightly cockled; the green cloth has been slightly yellowed at the lower right quadrant of the front cover. The jacket has some minor chipping at the edges and the extremities of the spine. Signed by Willa Cather on the front free endpaper.

Description: Small 8vo. Lime green cloth with cover and spine paste on labels printed in black. Paste ons in nice condition with no chips or abrasions, a small spot on top edge of cover paste on and a small spot on top edge of front cover. Spine and cover edges adjacent to spine sunned to a lighter green, top edges of covers lightly sunned, a few sun spots on rear cover. Last 16 pages of text have a small brown spot on top edge.The limited edition of this title, as well as many other titles by Cather, are fairly easy to come by. Not so with signed trade editions, such as this, Cather's first bestseller. Signed inscription on front flyleaf dated October 29 1931 addressed to Mr Harry or Harvey Mason. First edition 6th printing October 1931. Dust jacket is about VG with fold edges toned, a chip to upper front corner, rear panel with a couple small closed edge tears and an abrasion on top edge. In protective mylar cover. PayPal accepted.
