SIGNED BY JAMES WHITCOMB RILEY on front blank endpaper and dated Aug. 31, 1909. Faint dampstain to lower right corners. Affixed to the blank rear endpapers are newspaper articles printed at time of death of the "Hoosier Poet" in 1916-two obituaries, Indianapolis Mayor Proclamation, and the following poems: After the Dark The Dawn; Oscar McCulloch; Lockerbie Street; and Mr. Riley's Last Poem to George A. Carr, an old boyhood friend. Contents and b/w illustrations clean, tight, textually unmarked.
