Description: A very nice First Edition, First Printing (so stated) of one of Phlip Roth's scarcer books, signed by the author on the front free endpaper, "August 1977, Philip Roth." With two cards laid in: The first says "This book is sent at the suggest of THE AUTHOR, fARRAR, STRAUS & Giroux, Book Publishers, New York" and the second is the business card of Aaron Asher, Editor in Chief, Farrar, Straus & Giroux. The book is in near fine condition in lime green cloth and matching green topstain. The corners are lightly bumped; otherwise fine. The dustjacket is complete with the original price ($8.95) and very little wear at the edges but there is an overall light yellowing to the white panels due to age. A very nice copy.

The book is fine - but for the absolute slightest wear to the extremities - in a fine dust jacket, which is now protected by a removable Brodart archival cover. It comes from the esteemed modern first collection of Joy Kritzer. A beautiful collectible copy from the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winning author, and a rather scarce Roth item that is anything more than flatsigned. I ship all of my books bubble-wrapped in sturdy, very well-padded boxes, so they are guaranteed to arrive in the exact same condition as when they left.
