Price: US$419.96 + shipping

Condition: Very Good

Description: The correct first edition, issued for export only and, airports aside, not available for sale in the UK. This copy signed by the author by way of a title-specific bookplate pasted to the title page. 8vo. 347pp. Black boards lettered in gold at the spine. Map-illustrated endpapers. Ribbon place marker. Edges and endpapers spotted. A very good copy in the correct first state dust wrapper showing three silhouetted figures, non-price-clipped and fine bar a tiny hint of creasing to the head of the spine panel. Le Carré loathed the dust wrapper design and it was replaced for the general UK issue of this book. Publisher's complements slip laid-in, alongside a fax (remember those?) from the publisher briefly outlining the difference between the two states. Uncommon thus.

"Our Game" by John le Carré is a gripping espionage novel that delves into the complex world of British intelligence and the Russia-UK relationship. The story revolves around Tim Cranmer, a retired intelligence officer, who is drawn back into the game when his former lover and double agent, Emma, disappears along with her lover, a rising star in the Russian intelligence. As Tim navigates the murky landscape of political conspiracies and personal betrayals, he finds himself entangled in a web of treachery that spans decades. Le Carré's masterful storytelling and deep character development create a captivating tale of loyalty, manipulation, and the high stakes of international espionage.
