HUBBARD, Elbert. One Day: A Tale of the Prairies. Arena Publishing Co, Boston, 1893.

Price: US$450.00 + shipping

Condition: Very Good

Description: Thin 12mo, 103pp. A crisp, sound copy, very good, in the publisher's light blue cloth, decorated in silver. Spotting/soiling to baords, but the contents clean and bright. This copy SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Hubbard on a front blank: "To Miss Tyler with the high esteem of Elbert Hubbard." One of Hubbard's first published books, preceding Roycroft by two years, and published by Arena Publishing Co., the liberal/progressive magazine out of Boston that helped to cultivate Hubbard's soft, craft-based utopianism. Unlike many of the "Little Journeys" and other Roycroft publications, which are easy to find signed by Hubbard, this early novel, with a contemporary inscription, is considerably scarcer thus.
