Description: Complete in three volumes. Deciphered, transcribed, and edited, with a full commentary by H. Buxton Forman. Limited edition of 250 copies - this set is numbered (194) and initialed by the publisher. Also INSCRIBED by the publisher in the year of publication. Octavos, half bound in white vellum with gilt lettering along the spines and gray, paper covered boards. The vellum spine of each volume is soiled (heavily on the first two volumes), Volume I has a small area of abrasion on the spine, some of the corners are bumped and worn, occasional foxing to endpapers and throughout text blocks, else each volume is good or better. No dust jackets.

Description: THREE VOLUMES UNIFORMLY BOUND. Portrait frontispiece of Shelley in Volume 1. Back strips of first two volumes are worn and soiled. Gilt lettering is readable. Volume 3 is much brighter. One quire in Volume 1 is partially loosened. These volumes were published for the Bibliophile Society. The original note books were owned by William K. Bixby. He was given permission to privately print 250 copies for presentation purposes, omitting the Bibliophile imprints. This is copy #130/250. The set is a presentation to the Grolier Club, SIGNED AND DATED on the front free endpaper by Mr. Bixby. The book-plate of the Grolier Club is affixed to the front pastedown acknowleding the gift. Furthermore, there is a letter tipped-in at the rear of Volume 1 on Mr. Bixby's letterhead confirming the gift. (See photos). The note books were deciphered, transcribed, and edited, with full commentary by H. Buxton Forman, C.B. Description: One of 475 copies printed for the Members of the Bibliophile Society. 3 vols. 4to. Presentation copy of WK Bixby. This copy of the limited edition of 475 bears a presentation inscription on the front free endpaper: Miss Anne Woodin with best wishes of Mr & Mrs W.K. Bixby, Nov. 1920. These notebooks had originally been given to Richard Garnett by Sir Percy and Lady Shelley in recognition for his long devoted service in assisting to sort out all the Shelley papers and manuscripts, and then made their way into the possession of William Keeney Bixby. W K Bixby was born in 1857 and was a passionate collector of autographs, manuscripts, rare books, and art. His work with the Union Pacific Railroad and American Car & Foundry Company allowed him to retire at the age of 48 and devote the rest of his life to travel and literature. These volumes contain the first printing of the stanza from "Love's Philosophy" that Shelley did not present to Miss Sophia Stacy when he gave her the rest.
