Description: Signed, limited first edition. One of 500 numbered copies, signed by Neil Gaiman on a specially designed bookplate. This copy is number 8. A small smudge of glue next to the bookplate from when the publisher affixed it to the front end page. True first edition, published by the BBC in 1996 - predates the American release by a year. Also contains Gaiman's original text, the American edition was altered (the publisher insisted that the London references were to obscure for US readers). Cover art by long time Gaiman collaborator Dave McKean. Hardcover in jacket, price intact on jacket flap. Clean and bright. Binding strong and square. Minimal wear. Lovely copy in fine condition.
