A rather sad copy, but INSCRIBED "To Lynne Marie Henderson with best wishes!" AND SIGNED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR, TASHA TUDOR, who adds the year 1963. ADDITIONALLY, TASHA TUDOR HAS ADDED AN ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATION OF A GOOSE FLOATING ON THE WATER above the inscription.

Signed presentation inscription by Tasha Tudor to: "To Mary Grisbie with best wishes Tasha Tudor" written in black ink on the front endpaper above and beneath the girl with the watering can drawing. A handsomely bound copy in finely woven green cloth with the front boards and spine stamped in gold. Clean and tight throughout with a few stress wrinkles on the half-title and title pages. In a poor, price-clipped pictorial dustjacket which has separated along the rear spine fold. The front panel is charming and complete, and the rear panel has a long diagonal fold and a 1/2" tear toward the spine. A pleasant inscribed and signed Tasha Tudor classic.
