Nice clean yellow boards with black lettering, the boards not bowing, very clean rough-cut pages as issued with minimal flecking on the front block, very clean endpapers, in an unusually nice dustjacket, no tears or marks, fractionally paled lettering to the spine, with the inner glassine wrapper present. A very attractive example of Sassoon's famous fictional account of his life before, during and after the First World War, with seven full-page illustrations (with tissue guards) and chapter-heading vignettes throughout by William Nicholson. Signed on the limitation page by Sassoon and Nicholson and numbered 152 out of only 300 copies issued.

The decorated vellum boards are very clean having been protected by the original glassine wrapper. Front board has some early bowing. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Number 107 of only 300 copies issued which were Signed by both Siegfried Sassoon and William Nicholson to the limitation page. 7 full page illustrations and headers by William Nicholson. Two of the tissue guards are not present. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. Some toning to the spine and edges. Mild edge-wear with a little loss at the upper spine and rear edge. The wraparound wrapper artwork looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Description: First illustrated edition, signed by the author and illustrator on the limitation page, number 13 of 300 numbered copies on English handmade paper; 8vo (231 x 160 mm); 7 lithographed plates, vignette half-title and title-page, head- and tail-pieces, all by William Nicholson, light spotting at extremities; original vellum binding, top edge gilt, others uncut, dust-jacket and scarce glassine wrapper, binding a bit bowed, dust-jacket lightly spotted at extremities with one small nick to upper panel, glassine wrapper creased with some tearing, very good condition overall. Memoirs of a Fox-Hunting Man is Sassoon's lightly fictionalised account of his early years in Kent. It quickly became a literary success, winning the Hawthornden and James Tait Black memorial prizes.
