Édition originale de ce luxueux catalogue imprimé sur différents papiers de couleur, paru à l'occasion de l'exposition de Max Ernst chez Bill Copley, à Beverly Hills, en Californie, du 10 janvier au 20 février 1949. Textes d'André Breton, Nicolas Calas, Paul Éluard, Benjamin Péret, Dorothea Tanning et, sous le titre Paramyths, un ensemble de 8 poèmes et de collages de Max Ernst imprimés en noir sur vergé bleu. Tirage à 512 exemplaires numérotés. Le nôtre, un des 478 exemplaires du tirage courant, porte en page de titre la signature autographe de Max Ernst. Très légères épidermures en couverture, mais exemplaire par ailleurs en parfaite condition.
