Description: 937 of 1500 numbered copies signed by Edmund Dulac. 210th publication of LEC and the 2nd of the 20th series. The book is about Fine, uniform color, very slightly darker on the spine. Binding is still tight and internally clean. The slipcase with some soiling and a small round mark on front board (possibly from a sticker) , slightly rougher feel along the spine also with slight darkening and soiling. Small bump (bubble) at the top of the spine and the same along the top of the slipcase. Slipcase entirely intact with no damage, tears or splitting, VG+ or better. Classic by Lucius Apuleius and retold by Walter Pater with a prologue by him. Illustrated in water color by Edmund Dulac, illustrations printed in process collotype by Arthur Jaffe. Designed by Warren Chappell and printed by Huxley House, hand-set in Trajanus type on Curtis special paper.
