Description: SIGNED. Ivory padded cloth covered boards, front cover lettered in blind, spine panel lettered in black, marbled endpapers. Limited signed edition, stated "First Printing" on copyright page, signed by Mailer (as author) and Schiller (on behalf of the photographers) on limitation leaf preceding half-title, original to issue and thus guaranteed authentic. Lacks original slipcase, this edition published with no dust jacket. 272 pp., illus. w/ color, b&w photographs including examples from Arnold, Avedon, Barris, Beaton, Morath, Newman, Schiller, Stern and others. Cloth is rather aged/toned with foxing on both covers toward edges and along spine panel, light foxing to text block edges, small nick to cloth along upper front fore-edge, light semi-circular impression to upper front cover cloth. Short gift inscription to blank verso of front flyleaf, otherwise unmarked. Limitation leaf modestly foxed, main title showing slight offsetting from color frontis. The final several leaves show a slight waviness along bottom edges from moisture contact but display no dampstaining. Some cosmetic issues, but intact in all essentials, and quite scarce. Size: 4to - over 9" - 12" tall

Signed by the author on a special label which is adhered to the first free end page. 271 pages of text and illustrated throughout with color and black and white photographs taken by numerous photographers taken from Norma Jean's baby picture to 1962. A beautiful, tight and clean copy with no previous ownership markings of any kind.
