The colophon identifies this as one of the first edition of 1000 copies, but also has a stamp, signed by the author, identifying this as copy No. 5 of 100 author's copies. Inscribed on the f.f.e.p. by Gernon: "To-----, Chicagoan and fellow Lincolnite with all good wishes from a pen pusher. Blaine B. Gernon. Sept. 28, 1936." With the bookplate of Frank P. Hadley on the front paste-down, depicting oil wells.
