Inscribed on the f.f.e.p. by Gernon: "To-----, Chicagoan and fellow Lincolnite with all good wishes from a pen pusher. Blaine B. Gernon. Sept. 28, 1936." With the bookplate of Frank P. Hadley on the front paste-down, depicting oil wells.
