Speical advance copy for Mark Twain's cousin, Mildred Leo Clemens who has made numerous notes/annotations throughout. Sampling: "San Francisco June 2nd, 1937 'Seventy Years After' Sammy Clemens Book", a handwritten excerpt from "Paine's Mark Twain Biography" and the annotations often parallel her career with his (she was a photographer and a UC Berkely graduate who lectured at various Chautauquas across the country, one of her topics was her cousin Mark Twain. Also a handwritten letter of authenticity from Mildred on Canadian Pacific Railway letterhead to "S. Books" Berkley, Cal. June fourth 191_. "As a member Clemens' Family, and a relation of M.T. it is my pleasure- to autograph this book. Mildred Leo Clemens". SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY THE PUBLISHER ED GRABHORN "FOR MILDRED LEO CLEMENS FROM ED GRABHORN". ALSO SIGNED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR DOROTHY GROVER. MILDRED HAS WRITTEN A NOTE BELOW THE SIGNATURES MENTIONING THE OCCASION OF SIGNING AND TELLING HOW MARK TWAIN BECAME A LECTURER. ALSO SIGNED BY EZRA DANE AT THE END OF THE INTRODUCTION THAT HE WROTE.
