Bixby, enhanced with steel engravings of Washington and Lear and Washington's coat-of-arms signed by the engraver Samuel Hollyer, noted for his portraits of Walt Whitman. This volume additionally inscribed by the legendary collector and philanthropist Bixby to St. Louis lawyer Thomas H. West.
