This contains three versions of the celebrated story first published in 1865. This is number 57 of 250 copies printed and Signed by Alan James Robinson.

Description: Limited to 300 copies of which this is one 250 numbered copies in the regular issue. This is number 99 of 250 copies signed by Alan James Robinson. First published in 1865, The Jumping Frog was translated into French in 1872 and retranslated back into English by Twain in 1882. This edition includes all three stories as well as an 1894 article by Clemens on the story's history. Illustrated with fifteen wood engravings by Alan James Robinson. Printed on T.H. Saunders paper in Centaur and Arrighi with the assistance of Arthur Larson, handsewn into green paper wrappers by Claudia Cohen. 22 x 14 cm, 64 p. Just a hint of edgewear to the wrappers; else fine. Accompanied by a Cheloniidae Press catalog issued in early 1990 and a promotional broadside (43 x 30 cm), which is signed by Robinson, for the Chronicle Books issue of this rendition.

Saunders pure rag paper; together with an additional suite containing the publisher's signed prospectus and 15 wood engravings by Alan James Robinson, each numbered and signed and housed in a cloth chemise; the whole housed in the original matching cloth and birch-veneer clamshell case, with titles stamped in silver on spine. Description: A pristine copy of the "State Proof" Edition, one of only 15 copies with a deluxe full leather tan binding by Daniel Kelm featuring four multi-colored leather onlay frogs, one on each of the covers and doublures. Housed in the publisher's linen box with a drawer containing a full suite of wood engravings (all signed by Robinson), a "state proof" suite of prints (all signed), and a copy of the regular edition of the book in wraps. The 15 wood engravings were printed by Harold McGeath and the book was printed by Wild Carrot Letterpress. Box features a metal clasp. A lavish production and one of the best from the famed Cheloniidae Press. Colophon is signed by Robinson who denotes this copy as "Artist Proof III."
