Description: First edition, first printing. Presentation copy; signed and inscribed by Malamud to artist and close friend, Rosemarie Beck. Very good with some staining to covers in a like jacket with some wear and a few small tears. Malamud and Beck met at the Yaddo art colony in 1958 and remained close for the next 30 years. They were both very supportive of each other's artistic endeavors and provided each other with a great deal criticism and encouragement. An excellent association.
