Inscribed by the author to (Maximillion Foster)1871-1943 author of "Rich Man Poor Man" "Something to Do" and "When Strangers Marry" and wrote for the Saturday Evening Post. A very good copy in original red cloth. Minor spots on the front cover.

Description: With a foreword by F.C. Selous and 129 illustrations from the photographs by the author + 2 large folding maps in a pocket at the end. An excellent volume on Safari hunting in East Africa, two years before Teddy Roosevelt's Safari, beautifully written, an all time hunting classic, inscribed & signed by the author on fep thus: "Mr. Henry W. with the Compliments of Percy C. Madeira, Dec.09/ Phila". This book was formerly owned by Edwin R. Leach of california Academy of Science ( small stamp), appears to be unread. First British edition in its original hunter green cloth with title in gold and a head of a cape buffalo in black on the front, top edge gilt, 304 pp + 129 photo plates and index. A well kept heavy volume. A nice tight copy.
