The inscription echoes the sentiments of the three-page printed dedication: To My Son I hand this volume (I) with a stirrup cup, for life's ride, filled - as it were - with the nectar of Good Cheer and with the wish that La Donna di Buon Auguro may ever ride by his side - Joseph B.
