Description: 341 pages. Royal octavo (9 1/4" x 6") bound in original publisher's quarter green cloth over blue boards in original pictorial jacket. Signed by the author. Tenth printing. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a fantasy novel written by British author J. K. Rowling and the second novel in the Harry Potter series. The plot follows Harry's second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, during which a series of messages on the walls of the school's corridors warn that the "Chamber of Secrets" has been opened and that the "heir of Slytherin" would kill all pupils who do not come from all-magical families. These threats are found after attacks that leave residents of the school petrified. Throughout the year, Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione investigate the attacks. The book was published in the United Kingdom on 2 July 1998 by Bloomsbury and later in the United States on 2 June 1999 by Scholastic Inc. Although Rowling says she found it difficult to finish the book, it won high praise and awards from critics, young readers, and the book industry, although some critics thought the story was perhaps too frightening for younger children. Much like with other novels in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets triggered religious debates; some religious authorities have condemned its use of magical themes, whereas others have praised its emphasis on self-sacrifice and the way one's character is the result of one's choices. Condition: Signed on the title else near fine in a fine jacket.

Rowling J.K.. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban DELUXE - Signed first edition, first printing. Bloomsbury, 1999.

Price: US$5096.97 + shipping

Condition: Near Fine

Description: First edition, first printing of the deluxe edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," signed by J.K. Rowling on the dedication page. This copy was signed in August 1999 for David R. McMillan from Dunblane, Scotland. McMillan, intimately associated with Rowling through publicity work, had the privilege of meeting her several times. An original letter detailing his association with Rowling is included with the book. Also accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston (TheHarryPotterSpecialist), the world's sole J.K. Rowling signature expert and an informative collector's card that provides additional details. The DELUXE edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" was released on July 8, 1999, simultaneously with the trade edition, marking the first installment published by Bloomsbury as a collector's edition. The print run for the initial release is unknown, but it is exceptionally limited. In September 1999, Deluxe editions of the first two volumes followed with a larger print run. All subsequent volumes were released concurrently with the trade edition. Due to its extremely restricted availability, the first print run of this title is the most valuable in the series. This holds true for authentically signed copies, which are exceedingly rare. This particular copy was signed shortly after its release, with only a handful of such signed copies in existence. The book is bound in the publisher's original green cloth and appears unread. The condition is near fine. Handling has caused some slight (hardly noticeable) fading at a few points on the edges of the green cloth, but the boards are without any wear. Minor bumped lower spine end, sharp upper spine end and sharp corners. The green endpapers are unmarked, the pages are clean with very mild toning as usual. The gilded bookends have a few minor marks but still look very good. Overall, a very attractive copy of an exceedingly scarce signed book.
