Rowling, J.K.. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows', UK signed first edition with official hologram. Bloomsbury, 2007.

Price: US$3230.86 + shipping

Condition: Near Fine

Description: J.K. Rowling (2007) ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows‘, UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed and inscribed by Rowling on the title page: “to Lindsey [signature]”, certified with the official hologram as called for (bearing the 21/07/07 date). By the time of publication signed Harry Potter books have become so valuable that a plethora of forgeries have permeated the market. Aware of this problem, the publisher issued the hologram sticker authenticating Rowling’s signature. There was only one signing event for this title in the UK: the midnight signing at the Natural History Museum in London on 20 July 2007, for which only 1,700 lucky ticket winners were admitted. Please note, that ‘signed’ copies not bearing the hologram sticker are to 99 percent forgeries and in any case worthless for collectors unless some substantial provenance can be presented. Condition: a near fine copy with just a little of shelf wear as shown. The seventh and last volume in the seminal Harry Potter series which took the book world by storm igniting Potter-mania amongst kids (and at that stage adults as well). The first print run for this book was a staggering 8 million copies. However, since effectively only about 1,700 copies were signed at the only official signing on 20 July 2007 ‘Deathly Hallows’ sells for a considerably higher price than many earlier volumes in the Potter series. Adapted as a two-part movie in 2010 and 2011. First and Fine

J.K. ROWLING. THE TALES OF BEEDLE THE BARD (SIGNED). Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, LONDON, 2007.

Price: US$5095.00 + shipping

Condition: Near Fine

Description: Signed First Edition, First Printing One of very ONLY TWO HUNDRED signed trade first editions in existence! And one of the very very few signed on that day that were signed without a dedication, and flat signed “J.K. ROWLING”! On publication J.K. Rowling held a non publicized event at an Edinburgh Library. The children invited to the event at the National Library of Scotland, won a small lottery of 200, with 10 local schools being given the opportunity to bring up to 20 pupils each, aged eight to 11. Unlike other book signings, this specific and unique event included the author, J.K. Rowling, reading passages from her new book, at Edinburgh’s Parliament Hall. This ONE event launched the book The Tales of Beedle The Bard. Signed by Rowling with her name only, “J.K. Rowling”, which was usually how she signed the books for the staff who attended the function. Includes the requisite official hologram from that event.Fine condition with a crisp tight binding! The Tales featured in the seventh and final Harry Potter book. It was a volume of wizarding fairy tales left to Hermione Granger by Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore and it played a crucial role in helping Harry to defeat Lord Voldemort.Known to fans as the book which Albus Dumbledore left to Hermione Granger in Rowling’s final Potter novel, The Tales of Beedle the Bard contains clues which helped Harry Potter in his mission to destroy Lord Voldemort. Only one of its five stories, The Tale of the Three Brothers, was recounted in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: the remaining four, The Fountain of Fair Fortune, The Warlock’s Hairy Heart, The Wizard and the Hopping Pot and Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump, have not been seen before. The book has near fine pictorial boards with no dust jacket as issued. The boards have their nice original sheen, with the typical light toning to the boards. The binding is very tight and square and still snaps shut when opened. The end papers are clean, bright and flat with no marks, no inscriptions, no book plates and no bookstore stamps. The internal pages are clean, bright and flat, the pages are crisp with no stains, no writing, no handling marks and no bent pages. Stunning beautiful book appearing as unread! Signed by Rowling with her name only “J.K. Rowling”, which was usually how she signed the books for the staff who attended the function.Includes the requisite official hologram from that event.Fine condition with a crisp tight binding! J.K. Rowling waived her royalties for the book, with net proceeds from the sale to go to the charity she co-founded, The Children’s High Level Group, which works with vulnerable children in eastern Europe. “Hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children in eastern Europe are living in appalling conditions in large, residential institutions,” she said. “Contrary to popular belief, fewer than 4% of them are orphans, but are in care because they are considered disabled or their families are poor or from ethnic minorities. The charity is publishing The Tales of Beedle the Bard to raise money to fund our work in helping these children out of institutions and in to loving families or community care homes. “I hope that The Tales of Beedle the Bard will not only be a welcome present to Harry Potter fans, but an opportunity to give these abandoned children a voice. It will encourage young people across the world to think about those who are less fortunate and help change many young lives for the better.” A very handsome, exceedingly scarce fine example, ONE OF ONLY TWO HUNDRED SIGNED. Presenting very well with the crisp, clean interior. ADDITIONAL IMAGES AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. PLEASE SEE OUR ABE STORE FOR MORE CHILDREN'S TITLES.

Rowling, J.K.. Harry Potter Series: Complete Set of Deluxe Editions. Bloomsbury, London, 2007.

Price: US$40000.00 + shipping

Condition: Fine

Description: Inscribed first printings of the deluxe editions in the fantasy series, all dedicated to the same family, with three additionally signed "Jo." These deluxe editions, slightly larger in format and produced with higher quality materials, were one way Bloomsbury responded to reader demand, especially in the gift market. Unfortunately, the Harry Potter market has been so hot in recent years that her signature is now notorious for its proliferation of forgeries, with even Rowling commenting on the problem (Deadline, "Rowling reveals many books 'signed' by her are fakes"). In such a market, a set like this - inscribed to a single family, friends of the author who called her "Jo," is exceptional. 7 volumes. Each volume in original cloth of various colors with tipped-in illustration, gilt-lettered front boards and spines, original silk ribbon markers. Without dust jackets as issued. Every volume inscribed to the same recipients; Philosopher's Stone, Half-Blood Prince, and Order of the Phoenix signed both "JK Rowling" and "Jo." Housed in custom red cloth slipcase. Nearly flawless.
