Description: Second printing, hardcover, signed by Abbey on the front fly leaf, book has bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, light sunning to the head with a sliver to the tail of the spine, and a few small spots and smudges to the edges of the text block. Overall, a solid, tight, Very Good copy in an unclipped, Near Very Good dust jacket, which has short creased tears to the head of the spine, slighter wear to the tail of the spine and the corners, light sunning to the spine, soiling to the upper 1" of the spine that extends to the covers, and rubbing some smudging to the covers. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.

Edward Abbey (1927-1989) was a celebrated author, essayist, conservationist, noted pain-in-the-ass, and in many ways the father (or at the very least, uncle) of the modern environmental movements.
