This book is an important example of the late 19th-century's Revival of Printing and the books produced by small fine press publishers of the fin de siecle. This particular book is important to the history of the Chiswick Press because the facsimile was prepared using from the elder Charles Whittingham's imprint of 1811 taken when he moved his press to Chiswick from London. By the time of this book's republication in 1886, the business was directed by bookmaking and artist, Charles Thomas Jacobi who ran the business from 1885 until 1919. Chiswick press continued to create beautiful books for the British market until 1962 when they finally closed their doors.
