STEIN, GERTRUDE. Four Saints In Three Acts. Random House, New York, 1934.

Price: US$800.00 + shipping

Condition: Near Fine

Description: A clean, bright and attractive copy of this first edition. Bound in original black cloth on boards, lettered in gilt on the spine. This is the libretto for Stein's opera which had music composed by Virgil Thompson. The premiere was held in Hartford, Connecticut in 1934. The jacket is very clean and bright with no chips though it is price-clipped. This copy is signed by Gertrude Stein on the front free endpaper. There is a very faint offset stain that does transit the last few letters of Stein's name. I could say there is a "Stein Stain" but that would be in poor taste. This remains a very attractive copy of an important work by Gertrude Stein, signed by her and in excellent condition. Near Fine / Very Good.
