Hillerman was a Macavity Award Winner and both an Edgar and Anthony Award Nominee. The New York Times called Tony Hillerman's mysteries some of the best and certainly the most unusual mystery novels of the last few decades. The Washington Post said they are one of the consistently superior and definitely distinctive mystery series of the last 15 years. He died in 2008 in Albuquerque NM at age 83. When reporter John Cotton's friend and fellow reporter is murdered, his notebook, filled with information about a tax scam, ends up in John's hands. Not long afterward, a body is discovered in John's car, a bomb is found in his apartment, and John's girlfriend suddenly drops out of sight. John must unravel the mystery of why anyone would kill for the information the notebook contains. All our books are in our non-smoking home ready to mail. Complementary insurance in the US.
