"This book is a mosaic of the author's thoughts over a lifetime of fishing, taken from unpublished addresses before such audiences as the Gridiron Club of Washington correspondents, the Bohemian Grove, the Key Largo Anglers Club, etc." (dj blurb). The book shows some light discoloration spots to covers, internally clean, the jacket is in VG+ condition and is not price-clipped, signed by Hoover on the half-title page, with perhaps the original owner's name inked in another hand.

Solid text block, free of any marks or wear. In the publisher's near fine dust jacket, $3.00 on front flap, short closed tear to rear panel along bottom edge, vibrant illustrations. (Burns 0077) This copy is signed on the half- title: "To Ferne and Bert Mattei - And Wishing you luck! - Herbert Hoover." The recipient of this book, Albert Mattei (1895-1969) was the president and CEO of Honolulu Oil Company and a close friend of President Hoover. They were both members of the exclusive Bohemian Club and were frequent fishing partners. Fishing for Fun was published shortly before Hoover's death in 1964, being a collection of essays and speeches given by the former President about his favorite pastime.
