Laid in is a 100 word TYPED LETTER SIGNED on Random House stationery from at the time promotion director of Random House, Allan Ullman, hyping this title. Ullman was also a writer of thrillers, 'Sorry, Wrong Number'' based on Louise Fletcher's radio drama, being one of them. The authors second novel.

Interior clean, binding tight, endpapers starting to tan, pages toned, shelf scuff mark on the bottom of the book block, top edge dusty. Dust jacket rubbed and chipped, in a mylar slip. Michener's second book, uncommon.

Description: The first printing of Michener's uncommon second book, published by Random House in 1949. Bound in gray cloth. This copy has been signed by Michener and dated Feb. 7, 1949. A very good copy of the book with some rubbing to the lettering on the spine in a very good dust jacket with chipping - particularly to the spine ends. There is also a strip missing from the top of the rear jacket panel that penetrates from one quarter to one half inch. This strip extends to within one and a half inches from the outer edge.
