Colophon states (in embossed round seal text) that "This is one of 50 presentation copies out of series". It is unnumbered, therefore, and not one of the 1500 numbered copies. Scarce thus. SIGNED "Lewitt" in pencil on colophon page. Printed at the Anthoensen Press. Text in English. The slipcase is extant and sturdy and functional but not pretty, as it has 5 or 6 areas where the paper laminate has peeled away from the box, and edges are worn. Further images upon request.

The book was designed by Lewt and set in Cloister Bold by Mackenzie-Harris Corp and bound by A. Horowitz & Sons. Features a long introduction by Alexander Coleman. Includes 22 silk screen illustrations by Lewitt that were printed for this book by Jo Watanabe. A fine copy in full black morroco binding in a very near fine slipcase with only the most minute of wear. No dust jacket as issued. Signed by Lewitt on the colophon page. A nicer than usual copy of one of Borges' best books in a very attractive format.
