Robbins, Tom. Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, Massachusetts, 1976.

Price: US$1000.00 + shipping

Condition: Good

Description: This is the VERY SCARCE UNCORRECTED PROOF bound in pale blue textured paper covers with black titles. SIGNED and inscribed To .Tom Robbins" in black pen to the title page. Arguably the funniest and one of the most memorable in Robbin's astonishing body of work. Paper covers generally faded and a little worn, sunned at spine, small separation incipient at spine head, diagonal creases at bottom front corner, tips worn, front free endpaper has one set of removed staple-holes, three page-corners diagonally-creased; one of which may have previously been paper-clipped causing waviness at that place on surrounding pages, text-edges less than fresh. The book may be a little worn but the 365 pages of content are still sparkling, and as Tom Robbins himself might say: "Swee-eet!"

ROBBINS, Tom. Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1976.

Price: US$1500.00 + shipping

Condition: Near Fine

Description: His irrepressible second novel. Inscribed by Robbins: "To Paul, with 'eternal' gratitude for introducing me to the Clock People. Your friend, Tom Robbins." Paul Dorpat, who is the first person acknowledged in Robbins' Author's Note for the book, was a co-founder with Robbins and others of Seattle's first underground newspaper, Helix; and an issue of the paper featured a story about The Great Clock and the legend of the Eternity of Joy, the text of which parallels Chapter 59 of Cowgirls (in addition to "the clockworks" playing a larger role in the novel as a whole). A dozen or so ink and pencil notes in the text, presumably by Dorpat. Apart from the annotations and a bit of spotting to the boards, this is a near fine copy in a very good dust jacket with a chip at the upper rear spine fold. One of the best possible association copies of this beloved novel.

Robbins, Tom. Even Cowgirls Get The Blues (signed 1st printing). Houghton Mifflin, New York, 1976.

Price: US$1995.00 + shipping

Condition: Fine

Description: Houghton Mifflin. New York. 1976. 365 pages. NF+/NF+ 1st Edition, first printing. SIGNED by Tom Robbins directly to the title page; signature only. Quarter bound with turquoise blue cloth with a white binding. $10.95 price is intact on the DJ flap. The book is just about perfect. Tight, crisp, bright and unread. The only flaw holding the book back from As-New status is a tiny fray hair on the upper corner tip of one panel. For all intents and purposes, it could be trimmed off if you so choose. The only thing keeping the crisp and bright DJ from grading As-New is a tiny closed tear to DJ edge. This is an absolutely stunning first printing of the cult classic and Tom Robbins' most in demand title. Signed by Tom Robbins. Beautiful.
