Description: First edition, first impression, signed by the author on the title page, with his printed name struck through, and inscribed by the dedicatee on the front free endpaper, "To Mr & Mrs S. H. Rundle, with my gratitude & admiration, Tom Harris". This is one of only two plays written by Forster, the other being Abinger Pageant (1934). Kirkpatrick A22; Woolmer 466. Octavo. Original orange cloth, spine lettered in green. With dust jacket. Tiny marks to cloth, faint damp stain to spine and rear cover, light foxing to head of boards, edges, and endpapers, endpapers browned; dust jacket rubbed and toned, extremities lightly chipped with one short closed tear to rear panel, corresponding stain to verso. A good copy in good, unclipped jacket.
