The edges of the covers are very lightly rubbed with a tiny chip to the head of the spine. Pages 1-20 & (1), printed on one-side only. Illustrated with cut-outs by Gorey in black & white throughout. All of the cut-outs are intact. Very good. First edition, signed on the title page by Gorey. This is the book of construct-it-yourself miniature sets, characters, and costumes and created by Edward Gorey for the 1978 Broadway theatrical production of Bram Stoker's "Dracula" that premiered with Raul Julia in the title role. A bright, most handsome complete and uncut example of this delightful item additionally SIGNED "Edward Gorey" in the artist's calligraphic script in ink above his crossed-through printed name on the title page - as was his custom with this title - showing an unobtrusive margin of brownish discoloration along the lower edge of the inside rear cover and last few pages. Description: A toy theater after the sets and costumes of the Broadway production, designed by Edward Gorey. Complete. Signed by Gorey at title page. First printing, with number line beginning at 1. 20 pages. Illustrated covers, very good with small stain or toned sticker ghost at front panel, near the fore-edge; light general edgewear; tiny chip from front corner of spine head. Spiralbound, binding sound. In black paper dust wrapper, scuffed, edgeworn, with a small closed tear from bottom edge of rear panel and another from top edge of the front, and numerous horizontal small tears across the spine, a likely consequence of the spiral binding, as even where whole there are faint horizontal impressions/indentations marching up the DJ spine. Interior clean, text and illustrations free of markings. Stored and sold in protective sleeve.
