Coloured frontispiece and two plates, many other plates in b&w, head & tail pieces. 4to (10 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches), pages: viii:189, original parchment boards blocked in gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut. Binding spotted and browned, crack to outer upper joint and backstrip lifting (inner joint firm however), headbands chipped, internally very good and clean.

Light foxing to the preliminary leaves, including the title page signed by the author. Slightly bumped at corners and slight use at extremities of spine; tight and sound in a jacket with small chips at corners and the top of the spine, affecting the top line of the lettering. Signed by Walter De la Mare on the title page.

Description: A very nice copy, bound in vellum now with some browning as all these limited editions are, this is limited to 325 copies no 124 signed in ink by Walter De La Mare , Title , name and date 1922 on the spine in gilt again on the front board with a picture in a square of a little imp sitting on a frog in a bush again in gilt, Top edge Git all text pages rough cut first endpaper browned , with the book plate of Waldo C Hodgdon, signed by Walter on the back of the half title page and numbered. There are three charming colour plates and each of the 61 poems and stories for children have a black and white plate to accompany them. Rear endpaper is also browned , Book is very clean and tight a super copy. 193pp.
