PRESENTATION: "To Emily Stevens from her swimming mate Sinclair Lewis Woodstock Aug. 20, 1929" - elegantly and clearly written in ink on front endpaper. Blue cloth with orange lettering with very light crease to spine and some wear at head, heel and corners. Spine very lightly dulled. Jacket is good minus, with chipping and creasing at head, heel and front edges, taped tears in several places on backside of jacket, and uneven mottling to spine. Near fine with very light rubbing to title panel. An exceptionally bright and tight copy, with card signed by Sinclair Lewis with a small portrait of Lewis laid in at front endpaper. Unclipped dust jacket (2.50) with content description, no reviews on front flap. Dust jacket condition is very good: closed tears at either side of heel, small chip to left bottom corner of spine. Minor chipping to corners, minor creasing the closed tear at head of spine. Now in mylar. Faint sunning to spine of dj and front edge.
